The Defensive Matrix absorbs 250 points of damage from all damage type. The shield is not perfect; some damage will "leak" and reduce the unit's HP by 0.5 per hit.
Matrices count as having priority over shields, so health will appear to go down first on Protoss units.
Successive casts on the same unit do not stack, but replace any old Matrix with the new one.
